If You Can't Choose One Breed: Mixed-Breed Dogs 

You can easily locate them. There are likely several mutts waiting to be adopted at your local shelter. 

On the other hand, there are those who have their hearts set on unique hybrid or "designer" dogs. 

The poodle heritage of the "doodle" dog breeds can make life simpler for allergy patients, although this is not always the case. 

Although the goal of breeding a mixed-breed dog is to improve upon both parent breeds, this isn't always the case.

Now we're getting into the murky territory.  Straight fur is acceptable for Goldendoodles.  

While breeders can strive to select for desirable traits in their dogs, they can only do so much because each dog is an individual. 

The Bernese mountain dog and the poodle are the parents of the hybrid dog known as a Bernedoodle.
